Why We Invest in Training, Events, and Our Local Community

At Knights Construction, we believe if we’re going to build homes the right way, we have to keep learning the right way.
Recently, our team attended ABC Supply’s Northeast Iowa Siding, Window, and Door Expo. Events like this aren’t just something we “show up” to — they’re an opportunity to sharpen our skills and stay current on the materials and systems we use every day.
Staying Educated on the Products We Install
When we build a home, we’re working with real materials from real manufacturers — siding, windows, doors, waterproofing systems, insulation products, and more.
These events allow us to:
• Learn directly from manufacturers• Understand updated installation methods• See new product improvements• Ask technical questions face-to-face
That knowledge translates directly into better builds for our clients.
If we’re recommending a product, we want to fully understand how it performs, how it installs, and how it holds up long term in Iowa weather.
Improving as Builders and as Professionals
It’s not just about materials. It’s about improving how we operate.
We picked up new tips, better communication strategies, and clearer ways to explain systems to homeowners. The more fluent we are in what we do, the easier it is for clients to feel confident in their decisions.
Confidence doesn’t come from guessing. It comes from experience and education.
Supporting Local Businesses Matters
This week we also attended a local meet and greet for a new business owner in the area.
We believe supporting the local community is just as important as building in it.
When we show up for local businesses, supplier events, and industry showcases, we’re strengthening the network that supports every home we build.
Construction isn’t just about lumber and concrete. It’s about relationships.
Why This Matters to You
When you hire a builder, you’re not just hiring someone who can swing a hammer.
You’re hiring a team that should:
• Stay current on products
• Understand proper installation systems
• Have relationships with suppliers
• Support the community they build in
We take that seriously.
Whether it’s attending industry expos or showing up for local businesses, we’re committed to improving our team so we can deliver better homes.
That’s how we continue to grow — and that’s how we continue to build homes that last.
