What We’ve Been Working On Around Northeast Iowa

Lately we’ve been staying pretty busy across Northeast Iowa.
We’ve had projects going on in places like New Hampton, Clear Lake, Decorah, Lawler, Elma, and down toward Waterloo. Between additions, remodels, and new builds, we’re seeing a lot of homeowners choosing to invest in their current homes instead of moving — especially with how the market’s been the last few years.
Every job’s a little different, but they all come down to the same thing — making sure the work is done right from the start.
Additions
A lot of what we’ve been doing recently are home additions.
With home prices and interest rates where they’re at, more people are deciding to stay put and build onto what they already have. Whether it’s adding a garage, expanding living space, or reworking part of the home, the goal is usually the same — make the house fit their life better.
The biggest thing with additions is making sure everything ties in properly — structurally, visually, and with the existing layout. If that part isn’t done right, it shows later.
Remodels
We’ve also had a number of remodels going.
Some projects are straightforward updates, but others involve changing layouts to improve how the home actually functions. Opening things up, improving flow between rooms, and fixing spaces that were never designed well in the first place.
A lot of older homes around Northeast Iowa weren’t built for how people live today, so remodeling ends up being a practical way to make them work better long-term.
Custom Homes
On the custom home side, we’re still working with clients building from the ground up.
This is where planning really matters. Most issues in construction don’t come from the building itself — they come from decisions that weren’t fully thought through beforehand.
We spend a lot of time upfront working through layout, budget, and scope so things don’t get off track once construction starts.
Working Across the Area
One thing people don’t always realize is how spread out our work is.
We’re not just in one town — we’re working across multiple communities throughout Northeast Iowa. That means coordinating different projects, timelines, and job sites, while still keeping things organized and moving forward.
No matter where the project is, the focus stays the same — clear communication, realistic expectations, and quality work.
If you’re thinking about doing a project — whether it’s an addition, remodel, or new build — the best place to start is having a solid plan.
